The purpose of this award is to recognize excellence in science teaching in Alberta based on exemplary teaching of science to K-12 students over an extended period of time in addition to contributions to the professional development of science teachers through articles, workshops, curriculum development and other instances of professional development. The purpose of this award is to recognize long-term contributions to science education and science teaching in Alberta through activities such as curriculum development, professional development, research, publishing, communications, advocacy, and service to the Council and its members. The Outstanding Science Student Teacher Award |
The purpose of this award is to recognize excellence in student teaching in the subject of science in Alberta. Ten award recipients will be chosen and notified. Award winners will also be recognized in an article to appear in the bi-annual Science Council newsletter and website. Recipients will also receive a $100 gift card/certificate. |
